Gunners Legend Claims Arsenal Need to 'Break the Bank' in Order to Keep Hold of Sanchez & Ozil

As reported byGoal, former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has urged Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to do all he can to keep the club's star men Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil happy - if that means 'breaking the bank', then so be it.

As we all know, the north London outfit are in the middle of contract negotiations with both players, and as far as Seaman is concerned, if Arsenal have any hopes of winning the title - be it this year or the next - they need to keep the two men at the club.

Seaman won three league titles during 13 seasons at Arsenal, so it's fair to say he has the club's best interests at heart. He thinks Wenger needs to do'whatever it takes' to agree new contracts with the duo - in addition, he also states that wingerAlex Oxlade-Chamberlain should be tied down to a new deal also.

They need to break the bank to keep both of them, well all three of them, Seaman told talkSport. What sort of signal is that going to send to fans and other teams? Is it ˜oh yeah we are not interested in winning the league but financially we are fantastic'?

The fans are not interested in the financial side, they want to see the best players playing for Arsenal.

"Whatever it takes, Arsenal should do to keep especially Ozil, Sanchez and the Ox as well “ these are quality players. We used to be a team that would sell our best players. I thought we had gone past that and now the test is what sort of team are we now.

Are we a team that lets its best players go or can we still afford to keep them?

Despite two recent defeats to Everton and Man City respectively, Seaman feels his former club is on the right path andare playing a better style of football this year, thanks to the greater strength in depth that Wenger now has available to him.

I see a little bit more confidence in the players," the 53-year-old stated. The players they signed have come in and done really well, the squad for me is stronger. Now, when you look at the bench it's strong as well.

Even though we've got injuries, not too many, the bench is still strong and that is the main difference.
