After Napoli fought back from behind twice in their opening two games to pick up wins, captain Marek Hamsik believes it is proof of the winning mentality at the club now.
In their opening game of the campaign, they fell behind to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico before bouncing back to claim all three points and a week later, turned around a 2-0 deficit at home to AC Milan for victory.
With Sampdoria away up next, the Slovakian insisted that they will approach it high on confidence after their heroics against both Lazio and Milan.
“Once again in those games, I think that we showed our strength and our winning mentality,” Hamsik told those in attendance upon receiving honorary citizenship at Castel Volturno.
“Against Milan, we were patient and we played as we know we can and in the space of just half an hour we overturned the result. The victory was a well deserved one.
“We are happy that we welcomed the fans back to the Stadio San Paolo with such an important win.”
