Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Samudeen Ibrahim says he is delighted with his recent return to form following a difficult spell last season and the beginning of the current season.

The midfielder was the toast of fans when he exploded onto the scene in his first game for the club, when they hosted New Edubiase in last season’s opener where they defeated Edubiase 3-1. The youngster produced a man of the match performance and caught the eyes of the football fraternity.

However, the 22 year old suffered an injury set back that derailed his season and the former Danbort FC player has struggled with form.

But, Samudeen Ibrahim seemed to have shook off the disappointments of the previous season and has been impressive in their recent games. He says he had to put in extra work to regain his form but hope to do more.

"I thank God for how far he's brought me. I went through a lot after I suffered that injury and I found it difficult to break into the team upon my return to fitness," he told Happy FM.

"I had sleepless nights because of that but I took it as a challenge because I wasn't able to repay the faith the fans shown in me when I first arrived at the club," he added.

"I psyched myself up and started doing extra training so that I can get back to my best and also with incessant prayer. I believe all those things have played a factor in my current form. I'm not there yet but I know if I continue doing it everything will come natural."

The youngster showed class in their 1-1 draw with Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
