Hearts of Oak deny neglecting injured midfielder Mamane Lawali

Hearts of Oak board member, Vincent Sowah Odotei has refuted reports claiming that the club has neglected injured midfielder Mamane Lawali following his injury setback.

The player suffered a nasty injury in the first round of the Ghana Premier League season and as a result, missed a number of matches.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM last week, his agent Samuel Joel-Atolagbe accused Hearts of Oak of neglect, leaving his client to suffer in pain.

Speaking on the issue, Vincent Sowah Odotei has sought to give clarity to the issue. According to him, it is not true the club is to be blamed because they have made efforts to take care of Mamane.

"After initial treatment failed to cure him, he had an MRI which showed that he needs surgery. Two local hospitals were recommended so we got invoices from them.

"However his agent came in to say he would want the surgery to be done in Jordan and gave a contact to for us to ascertain the cost. The agent got back to us just this Monday evening with unofficial estimates, not on any letterhead."

"We are on meeting player now to let him know the way forward. It has delayed because of his agent not because of the club,” the Hearts of Oak board member has explained.

It is understood that moves are being made to ensure Mamane Lawali receives the needed treatment before the second round of the Ghana Premier League season.
