Despite an injunction application from Ashantigold SC, Real Tamale United (RTU) Communications Director Rafique Abdulai has affirmed the club's readiness to participate in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League opener against Hearts of Oak on Friday.

Ashantigold SC, under the guidance of lawyer Kwame Quayson, has filed an injunction notice with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in relation to the league's commencement.

Nevertheless, the Ghana FA remains resolute in its plan to kick off the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League with the match between RTU and Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Rafique Abdulai, the Communications Chief of RTU, stated that as of now, there has been no communication from the league's organizers regarding any delay, and thus they are prepared to face Hearts of Oak as scheduled.

“We as a club belong to the Ghana Football Association and we take instructions from the FA when it comes to their competitions,” he told Yfm Kumasi in an interview.

“The GFA has not communicated that we halt our preparations and per that, we will be playing at 6.30pm tomorrow against Hearts.

“If there’s any decision before 6.30am, the Ghana Football Association will inform all clubs and we will comply. But as it stands, we are ready to play.”
