Hearts of Oak handed major injury boost ahead of CAF Champions League showdown with WAC

Congolese left-back Raddy Ovouka has handed Hearts of Oak a major injury boost as he is expected to train ahead of their CAF Champions League showdown with Wydad Athletic Club on Sunday.

Ovouka picked up an injury during the first leg tie at Accra Sports stadium where the Phobians sealed a 1-0 win courtesy of Isaac Mensah's strike.

The 21-year-old was doubtful for last Sunday’s match due to an injury sustained against CI Kamsar in the first preliminary round.

However, further assessment by the team’s doctors indicated he was ready but was replaced in the 20th minute of the game.

Ovouka is expected to resume light training today after his treatment on Monday.

Samuel Boadu's side are expected to arrive in the Moroccan Capital Casablanca on Thursday with a chartered flight to continue with preparations for the game on Sunday.

The second-leg encounter will take place at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
