Hearts of Oak in talks to appoint Dutch trainer Rene Hiddink as new technical director - Reports

Hearts of Oak are in talks to name Rene Hiddink as their new Technical Director the local media have reported.

The Ghana Premier League side are without a substantive technical team following the mutual departure of David Ocloo.

As part of the club's plan to strengthen their side ahead of the new season, Hiddink is set to take over the club as the new technical director.

Hiddink, a retired football player, previously served as the assistant coach for the Maldives national team, and he brings a wealth of experience from managing various teams in the Netherlands, Rwanda, Madagascar, and the Maldives.

Meanwhile, Laryea Kingston, who is an assistant coach of the Ghana U-17 side, Black Starlets, is said to be in line to be the next new head coach for the Phobian Club.

Again, former, Legon Cities and Black Stars goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda, will also join the side as the new goalkeepers’ trainer.

Dauda, currently holding the position of Ghana U-20 goalkeeper trainer, would add valuable expertise to the club’s technical staff.

The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League will get underway in September. Hearts of Oak who finished 12th with 47 points will hope to improve their performance.
