Hearts of Oak midfielder Gladson Awako says he will continue to work hard after signing a new contract with the club.

The 31-year-old signed a one-year deal with an option to extend, keeping him at the club until 2024.

Awako joined the Phobians from city-rivals Great Olympics in August 2021 after an explosive display with the Dade boys in the Ghanaian top-flight

"I am very happy to have extended my contract with this beautiful family. It's amazing because this is my childhood club and it is a club I have always wanted to play for before I quit football in future," Awako said after putting pen to paper.

"With this opportunity, I will continue to work hard and promote the brand of our glorious club. Phoooobia! Masters."

The Black Galaxies captain has been on a fine form since joining the Phobians and has therefore been awarded with a new deal.

The former Ghana U-20 star is currently in the national team camp with the Black Galaxies as they prepare for the CHAN tournament in early January in Algeria.

Awako captained the Black Galaxies to qualify for next year’s Tournament ahead of archrivals, Nigeria.
