Hearts of Oak part ways with two players ahead of league resumption

Hearts of Oak, Charles McCarthy, and Emmanuel Mintah have parted ways ahead of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season second round.

The Phobians have terminated the contract of these players due to unconvincing performance at the club this term.

The technical team deemed McCarthy and Mintah surplus to requirements during the club's board of directors meeting in Accra on Thursday.

Mintah joined Hearts of Oak on a free transfer from fellow Premier League side Karela United.

He has been struggling for game time since his arrival at the club with no appearance this season so far.

McCarthy also signed for Hearts on a free transfer after ending his three-year stay at Elmina Sharks.

He failed to live up to expectation at the club since joining them under Coach Kim Grant due to persistent injuries.

Meanwhile, all football activities have been suspended following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country until further notice.
