Ahead of the start of the new Ghanaian football season, players of Hearts of Oak hit the gym on Thursday to engage in work aimed at building on their fitness levels.

The players of the Accra-based club has been forced to train at home in the past 6 months as a result of a ban on football that placed the sport on hibernation as part of efforts by the government to stop the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Following the lifting of the ban by President Nana Addo last Sunday, football is finally making a return. As Ghana Premier League clubs prepare for the start of the new season in November, Hearts of Oak is placing emphasis on building the fitness levels of its playing body.

In line with that, players were taken to the Koflex Gym yesterday to get work done to build on their fitness. The exercise was done with supervision from team manager Nii Saban Quaye who ensured strict adherence to the Covid-19 protocols.

The Ghana Premier League will officially start on the weekend of November 13 to 15.
