Hearts of Oak provides update on players, officials after mass strange disease outbreak

Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak have provided an update on the playing body after mass strange disease outbreak.

This week, a mass strange disease rocked the camp of reigning Ghana Premier League champions where majority of the players and officials were admitted in various hospitals in Accra.

Despite the unfortunate incident, the Phobians were denied the chance by the Ghana FA to postpone their matchday 29 game against Bibiani Goldstars on Wednesday.

Samuel Boadu had to map up a strategy to play the Ghana Premier League newcomers.

The Phobians managed to beat Goldstars 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium, courtesy Samuel Inkoom's strike from the spot.

Giving an update, the club in a statement confirmed the players and officials who were affected by the strange disease are now in a stable condition.

“Following numerous reports of an outbreak of illness among the playing body of the club, the Management of Accra Hearts of Oak would like assure all Phobians and the general public that while, indeed, several players and officials reported ill over the past three days, everyone affected has been given medical attention and are all in stable condition and recovering well”
