Hearts of Oak win Ghana Premier League title amid ecstatic scenes

Giants Hearts of Oak have won the Ghana Premier League title amid ecstatic scenes at the Accra Sports Stadium and in the Ghanaian capital city.

The Ghanaian giants last won the league title at the end of the 2008/2009 football season.

Since then, it has been one failure after the other leaving the club chasing to break an 11-year old title drought.

This season, although the club had a very disappointing start to the campaign, they have managed to achieve big at the end of the season on the back of several managerial changes.

Under head coach Samuel Boadu who took over at the tail end of the first round of the campaign, Hearts of Oak have managed to get the needed results to be crowned Champions of the Ghana Premier League.

Today at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Phobians hosted Liberty Professionals in a matchday 33 encounter of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

Drawing 1-1 with Liberty Professionals, Hearts of Oak have sealed the Ghana Premier League title, throwing fans at the Stadium into ecstatic mode.

Even at the Stadium, cheers, and fireworks outside the grounds are heard with the capital expected to celebrate late into the night.
