Hearts of Oak’s Salifu Ibrahim blames slow start for club’s unimpressive 2022/23 season

Hearts of Oak winger Salifu Ibrahim says the clubs slow start led to their unimpressive performance in the 2022/23 season.

The Phobians had a dismal campaign after finishing 12th position in the just-ended Ghana Premier League season.

Hearts of Oak failed to win in their last five matches, losing four and drawing against Berekum Chelsea on the final day.

The former Eleven Wonders star also failed to blame change in coaches for his outfit torrid campaign.

“In football, both coaches and players can leave clubs so, it’s normal. It doesn’t mean that is what affected our performance. Things just didn’t work out for the whole team. We didn’t get a good start,” Ibrahim told Kessben FM.

The Phobians went trophyless after failing to defend the FA Cup title and also bottling the league title.
