Highly-rated player agrees to finally play for Ghana; huge boost for Nigeria clash

Ghana has been handed a massive boost as the male senior national team of the country prepares to face Nigeria in the final hurdle of the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The African qualifiers are in its final stage as 10 national teams on the continent gear up for two crucial battles to secure a place at the world cup scheduled to be played late this year in Qatar.

Following the shambolic displays of the Black Stars at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, there have been calls by Ghanaians for the GFA to push top players refusing to play for the country to change their minds.

Fortunately, there has been progress with England-based defender Mohammed Salisu accepting that he will now play for the Ghana national team.

This is information confirmed by closed sources of the player although he had initially warned that he wants nothing to do with the Black Stars.

The big doubleheader between Ghana and Nigeria is scheduled to be played in late March.

The first leg of the encounter will be played in Ghana before Nigeria hosts the second meeting.
