How the the 25 players invited for Angola clash fared at the weekend

Footballghana.com examines the weekend performances of the twenty-five players called up by Black Stars coach Chris Hughton for the upcoming match against Angola.

Ghana will meet Angola in a double header this month for a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Cote D'Ivoire in January of next year.

The Black Stars will meet Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23, 2023, before traveling to Luanda for the return on March 27, 2023.

Ghana is joint top of Group E with four points from two games, having won 3-0 over Madagascar and drawn 1-1 with Central African Republic in June of last year.

Goalkeepers:

Lawrence Ati Zigi (FC St. Gallen) - He played full throttle in Gallen's 1-1 with Basel in the Swiss league.

Abdul Manaf Nurudeen (Eupen) - Manaf was an unused substitute in his side eight goal thriller with Oostende in Belgium.

Joseph Wollacott (Charlton Athletic) - Unused substitute in Charlton's 1-1 with Accrington Stanley in League One.

Defenders:

Tariq Lamptey (Brighton and Hove Albion) - Did not play at the weekend due to an injury

Denis Odoi (Club Brugge) - Came on in the 42nd minute in Brugge 2-0 win against Liege in Belgium.

Gideon Mensah (Auxerre) - Played full throttle in his team's goalless draw with Stade Rennais

Patrick Kpozo (Sheriff Tiraspol) - No league game during the weekend. Sheriff will play FC Balti today.

Daniel Amartey (Leicester City) - Started and substituted in the 66th minute in his side's 3-1 defeat to Chelsea

Joseph Aidoo (Celta Vigo) - Played full throttle in Vigo's 3-0 win against Vallecano in Spain

Mohammed Salisu (Southampton FC) - Unused substitute in Southampton's goalless draw with 10 man Manchester United.

Alexander Djiku (Strasbourg) - Played full throttle in Strasbourg's 2-2 draw with Marseille

Thomas Partey (Arsenal FC) - Played the full game in the Gunners 3-0 win against Fulham

Edmund Addo (Spartak Subotica) - Played full throttle in Subotica's goalless draw with FK Mladost GAT in Serbia
