Aduana Stars clinched a vital 1-0 win over Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League's matchday 20, held at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.
The home team, known as the "Fire Boys," lived up to their nickname, displaying a fiery performance that ultimately secured them the three points.
Bright Adjei, the team's experienced forward, scored the game's only goal in the 11th minute, setting the tone for the rest of the match. The forward expertly found the back of the net, giving the hosts an early advantage.
The Dormaa-based club had a dismal start to the second round of the Premier League campaign last month following their 2-1 defeat to Samartex on home turf.
Aduana was not in action last weekend due to the unavailability of Medeama SC following their involvement in Africa.
But the two-time league winners ensured the return to action with a win on home turf.
"Today we didn't play our normal game we tried to stabilize the game a little but still we didn't play our normal game but I am happy we got the three points," coach Acheampong said after the game.
Aduana Stars are second on the Ghana Premier League table with 33 points while Legon Cities sit 12th position with 25 points.
