I don't think Mohammed Kudus should leave Ajax this summer - Alfred Schreuder

Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder does not think that Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus should be allowed to leave the club this summer.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Everton after making cameos in the top flight this season.

Kudus is looking for more playing time because he wants to be in the World Cup squad. Ajax signed the highly-rated midfielder for €9 million in 2020 but he has suffered injuries that have hampered his impact.

"I haven't heard anything," Schreuder said at the press conference after the match against Sparta.

"I don't think he should leave. You can see that he is important. We need a lot of good players."

"We have spoken with him three times, because of course he also thinks he should play. He handles it well. Of course I see that he is disappointed now and then. That is also good and normal. You can keep emotion in check for the team. He handles that well. Today he showed a high level."

Since Kudus' move to Ajax in 2020, the Ghanaian has made 45 appearances for the Eredivisie champions, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
