Spain-born forward of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams has stressed that he has always known that he wants to play for La Roja.

In the September international break, the talented youngster had the chance to debut for Spain in the 2-1 defeat to Switzerland.

Speaking to the press after the game, Nico Williams said he has always been clear in his mind to play for the Spain national team.

“I have always been clear that I wanted to be here and I am very happy that Luis Enrique has given me this opportunity.

“I hope to take advantage of it. As everyone knows, I want to be with the Spanish team and be better, show that I’m worth being here,” Nico Williams shared.

Subsequently, after the Switzerland game, Nico Williams went on to star for Spain in the Uefa National League match against Portugal.

He assisted Alvaro Morata to score the winning goal for La Roja.
