I have rich experience to coach Black Stars - Karim Zito

Veteran Ghanaian coach, Karim Zito says he has what it takes to coach the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Ghana is currently without a head coach following the dismissal of Chris Hughton in January this year.

The former Premier League manager was shown the exit after the country's poor performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast after the team suffered a second consecutive group phase elimination.

The five-member committee assembled to recommend a coach to the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has submitted its report.

However, the Dreams FC coach speaking on Asempa FM said he would welcome the chance to coach the Black Stars due to his rich experience.

"I am one of the most experienced coaches in the country and I have achieved a lot with clubs and national teams," he said as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"I won the U-20 Championship with the Black Satellites but we were not able to play in the World Cup due to Covid.

"I have been criticized due to my affiliation with Kurt Okraku but with the experience that I have, I will not turn down the Black Stars coaching opportunity.

"I have what it takes to coach the team because I am one of the few coaches with good experience and a better understanding of the game," he added.

Meanwhile, reports in the local media suggest that Otto Addo is leading the race to be reappointed as Black Stars coach.
