Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has shed light on the reasoning behind his decision to sign for RC Lens, highlighting the factors that drew him to the Ligue 1 club.

Samed, who enjoyed a standout first season with Lens, revealed that the club's manager and their playing style played a pivotal role in his choice to join them.

Samed, 23, made the switch to Lens from Clermont Foot last summer, in a deal reported to be around five million Euros. Despite receiving interest from other clubs, it was Lens that caught his attention and ultimately won him over.

Reflecting on his decision, Samed told , “Yes, he [Franck Haise] was the one who called my agents. He was really interested and wanted me to come, so then my agents spoke to the club,” he told Get French Football News.

“I wanted to come as well, because I felt it was the club that could allow me to improve and move forward, and I liked their style of play. I picked Lens, but there were other clubs interested as well.”
