I want to see players move from Ghana and fit into teams in Europe – Sammy Anim Addo

Former Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member, Sammy Anim Addo, has expressed optimism that he is doing his best to ensure players can move from Ghana and fit into teams in Europe.

He is saying this on the back of the impressive football he has seen Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets, play during the ongoing 2024 WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations.

The Black Starlets swept away Ivory Coast 5-1 in their opening game before finishing their Group Stage with a 2-0 win over Benin.

Speaking on the fluidity the team displayed in their first two group games, Samuel Anim Addo was full of praise for the team and is hopeful of a bright future for the young lads.

“I can see a great future in these boys. I wouldn't be surprised and some of us want us to break that jinx where a boy can leave here straight and go to a team in Europe and get a chance,” he told Joy Sports.

The Black Starlets will now face Burkina Faso in the semifinal, hoping to reach the final and qualify for the 2025 U17 AFCON.
