I wanted to replace Baba Alhassan before his winning goal - Hermannstadt manager Măldărășanu

Hermannstadt boss Măldărășanu has revealed he wanted to replace Ghanaian midfielder Baba Alhassan before scoring the match-winner against UTA in the Romanian top-flight.

During the game, the Ghanaian player complained of some discomfort and was about to  be replaced in the last minute of regulation time by the trainer.

The game seems to have ended in a 1-1 draw but the Ghanaian midfielder weaved his magic to score the match-winner in additional time to complete a brace.

Speaking after the side win, the coach confirmed he had decided to take off the Ghanaian midfielder over fitness issues before his winning goal for the club.

"Baba had a problem during the break, a medical problem, somewhere in the groin, I talked to him and he would tell us that he would signal us if he had a problem. Honestly, I wanted to replace him with Biceanu, when Năstăsie entered”

“But he is a player who believes in himself and also takes individual actions. As long as he didn't signal us, I can't say, the inspiration is divine, I just thought so. But he had a medical problem since the break and I'm glad we didn't change him," said Hermannstadt's coach.
