Bibiani GoldStars' head coach, Stephen Frimpong Manso, exuded confidence in his team's abilities ahead of their encounter with Hearts of Oak, expressing his belief in their capacity to deliver a positive outcome following diligent efforts to address their weaknesses.

In a gripping showdown at the Accra Sports Stadium during Matchday 24, the Miners clinched a triumphant victory over the Phobians, seizing all three points.

Mawuli Wayo emerged as the hero of the match, securing the lone goal that sealed the deal for Gold Stars.

This crucial win marks Gold Stars' maiden away triumph in the latter part of the season, a significant milestone for Frimpong Manso's squad.

Reflecting on their success, the seasoned coach attributed it to the team's dedicated work in rectifying their deficiencies in recent days.

"Normally, we concentrated more on our attack when we had the ball [but] without the ball, that is when we had lapses in our team," said Frimpong Manso during the post-match interview.

"But this time, we made sure to rehearse it. I was very sure that if we were able to do that, if we are not able to win at least we would get a draw."

GoldStars' decisive goal stemmed from a hasty decision by the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper to restart play after collecting the ball from a cross. His rushed clearance rebounded off an opponent in the box, allowing Wayo to capitalize on the opportunity and score from close range.

With this triumph, the Bibiani-based outfit ascends to the 11th position on the league table, setting the stage for an exciting climax to the season with 10 games remaining.

Next up, Bibiani Gold Stars will host Karela United in the upcoming Matchday 25 fixture at DUN's Park on Wednesday, with kickoff slated for 15:00 GMT.
