I was never approached by Ghana - Myron Boadu

AZ Alkmaar striker Myron Boadu has revealed that he was never approached by Ghana before making his Netherlands debut earlier in the season.

The 19-year-old was eligible for both Ghana and the Netherlands before he tied himself to Oranje in November.

Head coach of the Black Stars, CK Akonnor was believed to be in talks with teh talented forward over the possibility of national team switch.

However, the youngster made his debut and scored in the 5-0 win over Estonia.

In an interview with the AZ website, Boadu was asked if he was ever approached by Ghana, “No actually not. Me, my parents and my agent have never had a call or anything.

"So I didn’t have to choose. In the end, it all went quickly with Oranje," he added.

Ghana are in talks with Eddie Nketiah and Tariq Lamptey to switch nationality.

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has pledged to convince European born Ghanaian players to switch nationality to play for the Black Stars under his administration.
