Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu has disclosed that he was playing for free at Accra Great Olympics. He challenged anyone who says it is not true to come and prove otherwise.

In July 2022, 13 years after playing in the Ghana Premier League, Badu made a return to the league and signed for Nungua-based club Accra Great Olympics as a free agent. Emmanuel Agyeman Badu signed a one-year deal with the club ahead of the 2022–23 season.

“If you look at my contract with them I don’t take one pesewa from them. If someone says he saw me taking one pesewa from them he should come and prove it I haven’t collected any money from anyone," he said on Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"We all came so that the league will be exciting so that the league will improve so the information I have now I was the reason why the coach was sacked. They don’t want the coach to use me but he stand on his toes that no he needs me in the team,"

"All those matches too I am the best player I give a good game for the club but if a club that we all want to help so that the league will go forward we will help so that Olympics will get a good position to stand,"

"When we started the top 8 we have been able to win it but in the league we know that getting to 4/5 matches we are yet to win but we are trying to turn things and this is what they are planning against me I cant be in that institution,”
