I will be surprised if Hearts of Oak fails to win the league – Amankwah Mireku

Former Hearts of Oak captain Yaw Amankwah Mireku says he will be surprised if his former employers are unable to defend the Ghana Premier League title at the end of the season.

The reigning Ghana Premier League champions currently sit 7th position on the table with 23 points after 16 matches into the season.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Otec FM, the former right-back noted the club were able to bounce back to win the league last season and for that matter, he will be surprised if they are unable to replicate it in the ongoing season.

“Samuel Boadu shouldn’t have struggled this season because he has the core of the team, he should assemble the right players and blend them with the new guys”

“Last season, when things were not going well in the first round, we bounced back and won the league, so with this squad, I will be surprised if Hearts fails to win this year’s league” he said.

Hearts of Oak will play Real Tamale United in matchday 17 of the league in Tamale.
