Kojo Mensah-Addae, Chief Executive Officer of DataBank Group, expressed his support for Otumfuo's direct involvement in financing Asante Kotoko.

"I'd prefer Otumfuo finances Asante Kotoko himself than giving it to someone else," he proclaimed passionately.

Asante Kotoko is currently under an interim management committee.

The four-member IMC includes Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua who is the Kontomponiaferehene and a chartered accountant.

Other members are former Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who has been named the new head coach, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, who will serve as the administrative manager.

"We all know football clubs are financed by their owners and in the case of Asante Kotoko, its bankroller is Otumfuo. I’d prefer he finances the club himself than giving it to someone else,” he told Happy FM.

“The club needs serious investment if it wants to compete in Africa,”
