Ghana international, Elisha Owusu says he is delighted he has fully recovered from his Achilles tendon injury.

The injury forced the Black Stars midfielder to miss a number of games in the French Ligue 1 last season as his club AJ Auxerre suffered relegation.

Last Saturday, Elisha Owusu was captain for AJ Auxerre as the team started the French Ligue 1 season.

Speaking in a post-match interview after the game against Valenciennes, the midfielder said he is happy he is back playing again.

“This was my second Achilles tendon injury. In April 2016, it was on the right and last January, on the left… So today, I am grateful to be in good health and to be able to play football again, to win matches and to have fun on the pitch. I'm also happy to have a club following me and giving me a contract. I just want to take advantage and give him back what he offers me,” Elisha Owusu said.

With the help of Elisha Owusu, AJ Auxerre managed to secure a fantastic 4-1 win over Valenciennes.
