Nordsjaelland star Ernest Nuamah says he is proud to wear the Ghana jersey for the first time in his professional career.

The 20-year-old featured for Ghana’s U-23 national team, the Black Meteors, as they drew 1-1 against Algeria on Friday in a 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Ibrahim Tanko’s team needs to avoid conceding if they are to draw to qualify for this year’s tournament in Morocco after securing an away goal advantage.

The 20-year-old Nuamah, a Right to Dream Academy graduate, is delighted and is calling on fans to fill the stadium tomorrow.

“I felt really good. It was amazing feeling on the pitch. This is my first time wearing the national team jersey; I’m very proud,” he said in a GFA promotional video.

“I know the city of Kumasi they love football; they really watch football. We want everybody to come here and support us. Hopefully we are going to win and qualify.

“People of Ghana and Kumasi people, everyone should come and support us.”
