Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies Football Club head coach, Yusif Basigi, expressed his pride in striker Mukarama Abdulai’s impressive return to form.

Abdulai recently clinched the Home-Based Female Footballer of the Year Award at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards.

After a lengthy injury layoff, Abdulai made a triumphant return, significantly contributing to the Black Princesses' gold medal victory at the 2023 African Games.

“I realized that such a household name, you don’t need to let her go rotten after having sat home for almost one and a half years due to injury, we had to ensure that she got recuperated, I took her to Takoradi to bring her back on track," Basigi said in an exclusive interview with Channel One Sports.

"She agreed and I’m not surprised this time around, she is making it,” he added.

Currently, Abdulai is training with the Princesses team in preparation for the 2024 Women’s U-20 World Cup.

Ghana is set to face Austria in their opening Group E match, followed by games against New Zealand and Japan. The U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup will run from August 31 to September 22, 2024.
