Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has been excluded from the team by coach Avram Grant due to an injury he sustained with Al-Ahli.
Gyan was reported to undergo surgery today as he set his sights on the sidelines after impressing in the past month.
Gyan has been in splendid form lately for Al-Ahli and his absence could really affect the Stars team against an experience Egyptian side.
Coach Grant replaced him with Ebenezer Assifuah of FC Sion who has been out of the team for some time now and will need this opportunity to prove his worth.
The Stars need to win their match against Egypt to stand a chance of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after drawing their opening game against Uganda in Tamale.
