New Ghana coach, Chris Hughton has insisted that interference at the senior national team will be a thing of the past.

He made these comments during his official unveiling as the new head trainer for the team in Kumasi.

The current leadership of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] have been accused of influencing player call-ups to the Black Stars.

The Black Stars' failure to perform at major tournaments has been attributed to the purported interference at the FA.

However, the former Brighton and Newcastle United manager speaking to the press reiterated that he cannot speak to what happened in the past but assured that he will be in charge of the team adding that interference will be a thing of the past.

"I cannot speak to what happened in the past," he said on Monday during his unveiling.

"I am the head coach now and I know interference will be a thing of the past," he added.

Hughton and his assistants, George Boateng and Didi Dramani have all signed a year-and-a-half deal.

The newly assembled technical team will hope to begin on a winning path when they take on Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifying games.

Ghana will host the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, March 23 before travelling to Luanda for the reverse game in four days' time.

The Black Stars are joint top of Group E alongside Angola with both teams with four points after two games.
