Isaac Cofie's Sivasspor trounce Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey Cup match

The round 16 of the Turkey Cup match featured two Ghanaian midfielders Isaac Cofie of Sivasspor and Afriyie Acquah who plays for Yeni Malatyaspor.

Sivasspor hosted Malatyaspor at the Sivas 4 Eylul Stadium in the first leg yesterday afternoon, in which they humbled the visitors by four goals to nil.

Both Isaac Cofie and Afriyie Acquah stared from the bench for their clubs in the 55th minute and 45th minute respectively.

Cofie came in to solidify the midfield and for-fend any possible rally from Malatyaspor.

Afriyie on the other hand brought a lot more energy and verve to Malatyaspor midfield, but it was too late as the team had already conceded three goals in the first half. The 28 year old returned to action after suffering a minor injury their last cup match before the Christmas break.

Malatyaspor will need to overturn the four goal deficit and keep a clean sheet when they host Sivasspor in the second leg  on Thursday 23 January at the Malatya Arena. Sivasspor who currently top the Turkey Super Lig, will be confident of another victory after defeating Malatyaspor 3-1 on the road last year in the league match.
