Isaac Oppong: Former Asante Kotoko winger denies receiving special treatment from coach Prosper Narteh Ogum

Former Asante Kotoko winger Isaac Oppong says he did not receive any special treatment from coach Prosper Narteh Ogum during his time with the club.

The 21-year-old attacker is among the eighteen players that were shown the exit door at the club last week.

After a disappointing run in the Ghana Premier League, the Ghanaian giants has now turned their focus towards the 2024/25 season with a major squad overhaul.

Report went rife that the enterprising winger received special treatment from the coach due to his relationship with his family.

But Oppong has taken to social media to rubbish such report and has asked the public to treat it with the needed contempt it deserves.

“As I depart due to the cancellation of my contract, I want to address and clarify certain reports circulating. Claims that I received special favors from the coach and had contact with his family members are entirely false”

“At no point did I receive any special treatment or have any contact with the coach's family members. My commitment to the team has always been based on professionalism and integrity”

“I wish Asante Kotoko continued success and hope to see the club reach new heights in the future. Thank you once again for the opportunity to be part of this remarkable journey”

Isaac Oppong is expected to find himself a club before the start of the 2024/25 football season.

In the just concluded season, he made 15 appearances for the Porcupine Warriors, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

The 21-year-old also won the Ghana Premier League title with the Ghanaian giants.
