Former Aduana Stars and West African Football Academy (WAFA) player want to use the Israeli Premier League as an access point to play top-flight football in Europe.

The central midfielder joined Hapoel Tel Aviv from Aduana Stars in 2018 in a deal worth 50,000 euros.

Emmanuel Boateng regards Israeli Football's highest division as a breakthrough in his career.

“The Israeli League I think is a very good League for upcoming footballers especially from Africa to start here because there are a lot of players who played here and now in Europe,” he told Joy TV.

“Some played here and they are now playing for big Clubs, so starting from here I think will help me because the League is very good for me and also not strong like England or Spain, I think from here is going to help me out.”

After a few years with WAFA where he came to the senior team through the youth ranks, Boateng moved to reigning Ghana Premier League Champions Aduana Stars and assisted them in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup before signing for Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv.
