Ghanaian midfielder Richard Boateng is delighted to join FC Cartagena as a free agent after the expiry of contract with AD Alcorcon.
The 28-year-old joined Cartagena after successful negotiations and passing his mandatory medicals.
Boateng becomes the club's first signing of the summer.
"I like being able to play in a team like this, it is an illusion that I have always liked, whenever I have played here I have felt very good and the history of the club has always called attention because the truth is that it is a very familiar team, that has good things that a footballer can enjoy and have in his career," he said after putting pen to paper.
"I believe that a footballer does not have to set limits, because there may be situations in which the coach asks you to play as a central or winger and you have to do it for the good of the team and for the good of the club. I can say 10 or 8, but whatever the coach asks me, I always try to do it ".
He added, "I think something like this can be seen from the outside, but we have a very good relationship between the coach and me, it has always been a situation that maybe the coach has not liked me, no I know, each coach has his way of being, but that does not mean that we do not have a good relationship."
Boateng has previously played for Real Oviedo, Granada, UD Melilla and Cardiz.
