Jamie Redknapp Blasts Marcus Rashford for Being 'Completely at Fault' for Arsenal's Late Equaliser

Former Liverpoolmidfielder Jamie Redknapp has made Marcus Rashford the scapegoat for Man Utd's 1-1 draw against Arsenal, blaming the 19-year-old for Olivier Giroud's late equaliser.

United looked as though they would see out a 1-0 win after Juan Mata gave them the lead in the 68th minute, that was until Olivier Giroud popped up with a vital equaliser just one minute before the end.

Arsenal'sAlex Oxlade-Chamberlain provided a superb assist, taking advantage of Rashford's refusal to track his man during the final minutes.

And Redknapp was quick to point out Rashford's inexperience, claiming that the youngster was 'completely at fault' for the equaliser.

"I'm a big fan of Marcus Rashford but I don't think he does well enough at all. Whether you're a centre forward or not, you've got to do better," Redknapp said duringSky Sports'broadcast of the game.

He added:"He doesn't get out to Chamberlain quick enough, he lets him run at him and pick up pace. He gets beaten miles too easily."

"You're hanging on for dear life to win such an important game. He didn't do enough, he really didn't, and I'll be amazed if Mourinho isn't telling him that in the dressing room.

"No matter what position you play, when you're hanging on for a win you've got to do a job and he didn't do it, he let his team down there."

United legend Ryan Giggs had a different view on Rashford's impact and where he will slot into the side once Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns from suspension.

Giggs said: "The balance shifts when Ibrahimovic comes back in. You don't have to worry about Rashford running the channels because Ibrahimovic wont do that."

"United teams have always had pace and power, so when you take Rashford out the team you lack a little bit, but then Ibrahimovic brings in different qualities."
