Bayern Munich superstar Jerome Boateng has expressed his desire to continue with his charity works even when he retires from football.
The German-born defender who is of Ghanaian descent has been doing charity works together with Münchner Tafel in the last 6 months.
Since the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit Germany, Jerome and the organization has been sharing food and other relief items to the needy in the country, especially in Munich.
In a recent interview, the player has shared that giving back to society is something he wants to continue doing even when he hangs his boots.
"Based on my experience so far, I can definitely imagine that”, Jerome Boateng said while speaking to Focus Online.
The 31-year-old added, “My first touch with the board last year was at the Christmas party in Munich. I was asked if I would like to stop by and give people food. It was nice to give people something at Christmas”.
He continued, "When I see what the volunteers, volunteers, nurses, doctors, supermarket employees across Germany are currently doing, I think that these role models exist in all areas of life
“But as I said, of course, I also want to help personally. This has less to do with the fact that I am a footballer, but with humanity. Everyone has to decide for themselves."
