John Antwi nets winner as Makasa beat Wadi Deglain 2-1 to advance to semis

Ghanaian striker John Antwi was the hero for Misr El Makasa as he scored the winning goal against Wadi Deglain their 2-1 win in the Egyptian Cup quarterfinal game on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old who has established himself as a goal-monger in Egypt for the past five seasons found the back of the net in the 38th minute with a superb finish after Paulin Vaovy had opened the scoring in the 28th minute.

Antwi was a torn in the flesh of the Degla defence and tormented them throughout the game but he was not lucky as the Degla goalkeeper pulled off some magnificent saves.

Degla lifted up their game late in the second half and reduced the deficit in the 88th minute through a Mohammed Mahmoud strike.
