The Ghana duo of Jonathan Mensah and Harrison Afful featured for Columbus Crew on Saturday night when the team posted a 2-0 win over Nashville SC in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
The two defenders earned starting roles for the in-form team when they hosted their Matchday 12 opponent at the Mapfre Stadium.
Just as in previous games, Jonathan Mensah and Harrison displayed outstanding forms which helped Columbus Crew to keep a clean sheet for the 5th consecutive game.
On the matchday, both teams failed to score in the first half and had to go into the break goalles.
Five minutes into the second half, Pedro Santos scored with an assist from Gyasi Zardes to shoot Columbus Crew into the lead.
Later in the dying minutes of the game, Gyasi Zardes registered his name on the scoresheet with an assist from Artur to seal the 2-0 win for the home team.
Ghana’s Jonathan Mensah and Harrison Afful both played the entire duration of the game and finished with high marks.
