Ghana and Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew is set to lead the Black Stars attack when they take on Russia in an international friendly tonight at the Moscow Locomotive Stadium at 4pm Ghana time.

The 24 year old started from the bench in Ghana’s final Afcon qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday following his late arrival to camp. Despite coming from the bench, the pacy attacker made incursions by hitting the woodwork as well as creating open spaces for the team in the dying embers of the game which however proved futile.

Jordan, who has scored 12 international goals in 37 appearances, will be occupying the void left upfront by captain Asamoah Gyan who is currently recuperating from injury and has joined his new side Al Ahli in the UAE pro league for the new season.

Jordan Ayew was actively involved in Coach Avram Grant’s training last night in Moscow and will certainly be given the mantle to lead the Black stars who failed to convert many chances created in their game against Rwanda on Saturday.

Avram Grant will be hoping to use this game to trim the rough edges in his team ahead of the world cup qualifier against Uganda slated for October while the Russians, use the exercise as part of preparations for the 2018 world cup.
