Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil marked a milestone in his career, scoring his debut Major League Soccer goal as LA Galaxy triumphed 3-1 over San Jose Earthquakes on the road on Saturday.

Paintsil, a recent acquisition from Belgian powerhouse Genk, showcased his talent in only his second appearance for LA Galaxy since joining the club in February.

The designated player made an immediate impact, demonstrating his goal-scoring prowess with a clinical strike from inside the box in the 18th minute, following a precise pass from Mark Delgado.

Not content with just one contribution, Paintsil continued to dazzle, turning provider just before halftime.

He deftly set up Dejan Joveljic, who calmly finished from inside the area to double LA Galaxy’s lead to 2-0, leaving San Jose Earthquakes reeling.

After the break, Paintsil remained instrumental in LA Galaxy’s attacking play, as he once again played a pivotal role in the team’s third goal.

His well-timed service found Riqui Puig, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net, extending LA Galaxy’s lead further.

Paintsil’s impressive performance earned him a standing ovation from the fans as he was substituted after 63 minutes, making way for Gabriel Pec to enter the fray.
