Jurgen Klopp Urges Players to 'Focus on Themselves' and Not Other Results Following Stoke Win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has urged his players not to worry about Premier League leaders Chelsea and to focus on their own game after the Reds' win over Stoke on Tuesday.

Klopp's side found themselves behind to Jonathan Walters' early header but strikes from Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and a Giannelli Imbula own goal saw Liverpool romp home to an easy victory.

Speaking toBBC Sportafter the game, Klopp revealed his players are not thinking about other results in the Premier League.

"We are focused on ourselves. We watch football and know the results but this is not when the season will be decided.

"If Chelsea win all of the games they will be champions and they will deserve it. We have to fight for each point. We need to be ready for each game.

"It was a very difficult game. The result doesn't show it but it was difficult because it was the third or fourth time we have played Stoke with Crouch on the pitch and that is a sign of how they want to play."

Liverpool took the lead on the cusp of half-time, and Klopp revealed he told his players their movement throughout the first-half had not been good enough.

We then scored a wonderful goal and then the second one. We regrouped again and told the players that the movement was not as good as it could be and we controlled the game," the former Borussia Dortmund manager continued.

"It was pretty clear Stoke cannot play the same half again. It was intense for them, they pressed high and were aggressive. We did better with the ball and deserved this result.
