Nigeria's Kenneth Omerou has urged Super Eagles supporters to come out and fill the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Nigeria last staged an international tournament in 2009, with Kenneth Omeruo the only remaining member of the side in the current Super Eagles.

In the opening game of the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2009, the German U17 squad raced to a 3-0 lead. Nigeria equalized on the night, with fans at the National Stadium (now Moshood Abiola Stadium) in Abuja roaring for the Nigerians. Omeruo, who was making his debut with the Golden Eaglets, scored one of the goals on the day.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Omeruo reflected on how it all began for him with the junior national team and how, thirteen years later, he is now with the Super Eagles.

“13 years already… tomorrow we will back in the stadium of my city Abuja. My first official tournament was on this stadium U-17 World Cup, 2009. Please let’s fill it up tomorrow as we fight together for victory, ” he posted.

The winner of the clash will obtain one of Africa's five tickets to Qatar. Nigeria need a straight win, however Ghana can advance with a score draw of any type due to the head-to-head rule.

The Black Stars of Ghana landed in Nigeria yesterday and trained in the evening at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
