Key Man City and England Defender Set to Face Scotland After Injury Scare

As reported on Manchester City'swebsite, after initially being one of nine players who sat out full training with Gareth Southgate's latest England squad, defender John Stones took part in an individual recovery session on Tuesday.

The Manchester City centre-back now looks set to face Scotland on Friday.

It had been reported he suffered an injury, but this now appears not to be the case, and it's extremely likely he'll be adding to his 13 caps at Wembley.

Having sat out the entire European Championships as an unused substitute, he has found his fortunes completely transformed in recent times - indeed, he has started all three of England's World Cup qualifiers so far this season.

In addition to that, he has become a key part of Pep Guardiola's plans also. It looks set to be a strong season for the former Everton man, who will surely benefit from playing under Pep, and gaining further international experience with his county.
