Ghana international Kingsley Sarfo missed Apoel Nicosia’s UEFA Europa Conference game against Djurgaden due to travel ban to Sweden.

The midfielder failed to travel with his outfit to Sweden because of a travel ban imposed on him years back for allegedly raping a minor.

Sarfo, who had stints with Malmo FF has been banned from travelling to Sweden for ten years due to the rape case labelled against him.

The Apoel Nicosia midfielder was jailed for two years and eight months.

However, after years of back and forth with the law, the Ghana international was set free and has bounced back to playing football.

Apoel says that he will play in the return leg in Cyprus.

"He is ready," says coach Sofronis Avgousti to the Football channel.

"I have seen videos of some good actions he did in Sweden and I hope he does the same thing tomorrow too,"
