Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has spoken highly of English-Ghanaian midfielder Kobbie Mainoo after his exploits in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Mainoo was pivotal when the Red Devils secured a remarkable 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils took the lead in the first half through Alejandro Garnacho, who capitalized on Josko Gvardiol error to slot home the opener.

Manchester United doubled their advantage at the Wembley Stadium when Bruno Fernandes provided a clever assist to Mainoo, who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Belgian-born Ghanaian winger Jeremy Doku goal was not enough as Manchester City emerged victorious to clinch the title over their rivals.

After the game, Scholes took to social media to eulogized the Ghanaian midfielder, saying he is ten times the player he was at age 19.

"Read a few comparisons between me and this kid last week, don't waste your time, he is 10 times the player I was at 19.

"I just love the way he receives the ball, the calmness, the awareness of what's around him and of course big goals in big games."

"This boy is special… and he's a f***ing red."

Mainoo has been named in England’s Euro 2024 provisional squad and will be hoping to make the cut for the tournament scheduled for next month in Germany.
