Koby Arthur scores against Chesterfield in the English National League

On Saturday, struggling Maidenhead shocked Vanarama National division leaders Chesterfield with goals from Koby Arthur and Ashley Nathaniel-George.

The Spireites came into the game having won five of their previous six games, but it was their lowly opponents who scored first, with Arthur firing past Lucas Covolan on the stroke of halftime.

Nathaniel-George extended the visitors' lead five minutes into the second half, as they were still stinging from last week's home loss to Gateshead.

Only a fantastic save from Maidenhead goalkeeper Daniel Gyollai kept Darren Oldaker's free-kick from striking the bottom corner.

Tyrone Williams did succeed in cutting the lead down in the last seconds, but it was not enough to stop the visitors from taking home a well-earned victory.

Koby Arthur joined Maidenhead in July 2022 on a free transfer, his contract with the National League side will end in 2024.

Maidenhead is 15th on the National League table with 13 points.
