Nana Yaw Amponsah has lauded the Asante Kotoko playing body despite their elimination from the Caf Confederations.

The Ghana Premier League side after losing the first leg 2-1 to ES Setif held the Algierains to a 0-0 drawn game in the return game in Algiers.

Speaking after the team's eliminations, the renowned football administrator lauded the playing body despite failing to book a group phase qualification.

"The playing body has done well despite our inability to qualify," he said.

"We looked at how the players played away from home, they have made us and the country proud. We hope they play together.

"We now turn our attention to the Ghana Premier League and we hope things will get better," he said.

Asante Kotoko now shift their attention in the Ghana Premier League game against Hearts of Oak this weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
