Kotoko interim manager Johnson Smith has explained that Gama was 'bullied' too much and that was why he was substituted against Aduana Stars.

On Sunday, Kotoko had the chance to go on top of the table with a victory over the Ogya boys but they failed to meet expectations.

The Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 on the day but one main concern was the substitution of Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama.

Gama was one of Kotoko's bright spots in the game but was taken off in the second half.

After the game, Smith was asked to explain his decision.

"Yes because they bully him [Gama] too much. Therefore we needed a striker who is strong to support Opoku to ease the pressure," he revealed.

Kotoko are now two points behind league leaders Karela United.
